    Moyle Mink & Tannery

I’ve read a lot of good things about them. After deer season I’m going to try trapping for the first time. If I can catch something good and want to tan it I think I will try them. It sounds like they just want the hide fleshed, salted and dried. Is that all I have to do? No pickling or stretching or anything?
Also, what’s the cheapest route for shipping?

Fleshed, stretched on a proper "form" or "stretcher" to dry is the way I've always handled my fur going to Moyle's. Definitely no pickling! All shipping is expensive anymore so shop around before you ship. Good luck trapping!

What stretcher do you recommend for coyotes and bobcats?
      Wood or wire?
      What about a fleshing beam?
A fleshing beam isn’t the same as a wood stretcher, correct?

Flesh the hides then put them on a stretcher, wood or wire.
What are you catching, coyotes or bobcats?
Bobcats take less time to turn and dry.
Make sure to get the fat and grease off the coyote especially in the armpits.

Once dried just gently fold them or put in a long box and ship.
Look into Pirate Ship for better rates.

Moyle does great work on tanning, ask for intact fur dressing on your hides and they will come back soft tan.

Watch some YouTube vids on fleshing and drying.

For a fleshing beam you can make one out of big pvc pipe or wood.

wytex- we’ve got coyotes and bobcats. I’m happy with either of if I can catch them.

Top Lot Stretcher Company is a good place to get stretchers and a fleshing beam if your looking to buy. I sell them a lot of the wood that they build their products with. Good people!

              Moyle's has a great reputation

              Another is Sleepy Creek Tannery
They will take green hides and flesh for you if you don't have the knowledge or time to do it

Have you had any experience with these folks? Wonder if they will accept furbears skinned either open or cased?

Hearing some not so good things about Sleepy Creek these days and yep Top Lot stretchers are great, we use them.

Moyle is not perfect but they have never ruined any of our hides and they do great tanning.

I had them do a coyote for me a couple of years ago, it was case skinned and they have nothing on their website that specifies one way or the other

I would listen to wytex though as she has probably heard something that is pertinent
