I’m loosing the battle. I have an armadillo that is tearing up my lawn I believe lookin for grub worms. I have found a few worms and sure that is the biggest part of it. Also my Saint Augustine virtually has no root system. People have said that’s a sign the worms are eating the roots. I’ve tried broadcasting insecticide twice but it calls for watering it in. I can’t depend on rain. I’m in Corpus and our combined reservoir capacity is less than 19% and we’ve entered stage 3 water restrictions, so now all irrigation is prohibited. There must be some type of liquid insecticide that will kill grubs. I’m asking for recommendations. Please help. Thanks

Take All Root Rot (TARR) is a fungus that you might be having issues with as well. Even healthy lawns can have grubs and no harm is done. It`s the number of grubs you have per square foot that is important. Lots of information on YT and several lawn forums about TARR. I had it about 10 or so years ago and it can be hard to get rid of. I used Peat Moss with pretty good results with a good fertilizer and watering program. I don`t know of anything that will kill grubs without watering it into the ground to get to the grubs.

Has your St Augustine sod been aerated ? If not that is step one. You can pour all the chemicals and organics and will just burn money. For a good root system you need proper moisture control. Me and a neighbor rented a machine and did both our St. Austine lawns after both fighting one thing after another for almost 7 years. Within a year it was a game changer.
As far as the dillo. Remove or terminate.
Good luck.
