My mini Doc May moment!!

Years ago I went and got 3 cheap Santa hats from Walmart after seeing his Christmas critter post!! We’ve got 6 hats now. Most of my bow stuff is at the office. All these were rifle kills except the blackbuck. The blackbuck was a whiskey drunk bow kill from Porters exotics! I didn’t have enough money but I knew my buddy did!! My wife was mad as a wet hen at first but it’s her favorite mount in the house!

We decorate my dad’s mounts. Even include Christmas lights and a red nose on one. I’ll have to get a pic if I can remember. It’s pretty funny.

Hilarious blackbuck story!!

We went there to hunt Oryx when they were on a fire sale because of the government regulations kicking in!! They went from $4300 to $1400 and they had killed 15 in 2 weeks! Those **** things were scared of their own shadow! I hunted 7 or 8 sits for them without flinging an arrow. Last sit I had them come in and an axis behind me barked and spooked them off!! I lost it and took off with the 300 and buckled the one in the picture. That evening the black buck came in and I just drew back to see if I could and I don’t remember anything past the arrow cartwheeling out the offside shoulder and him crashing off in the pasture!! I had enough to cover my Oryx but was $2k short on the blackbuck but my buddy got in some trouble as a youth and it cost him $3400. Since then he’s had $3400 on him!! He had it so I was good!! Paid him back when we got home right before he told my wife to have me tell her about my blackbuck!! What are friends for!!
