I have used them many times before and I was going to pay it but when she told me she was gonna charge me 5 percent to use my debit card and I told her not on $340 ticket! That got me thinking what else am I being nickel and dimed on here.
My quartered axis was $70 total 2 years ago for burger and tenderized steaks. Last year unskilled buck was $75. That place contacted me this week and said they can’t take anymore. Swamped with deer. Price was too good? Santa Anna Meat Processing, Santa Anna, TX.

this year I took a buck NOT field-dressed to another referred place. Same deal was $125. I think I’m still winning

Dragging this one back up. Took a buck I got to Bellville over Thanksgiving, nothing huge just a typical east Texas 3-1/2 yr old. Ordered 25 lbs. of Sweet Chipotle, 25lbs of Green Onion, Cut and Tenderize backstraps and tenderloins, and the balance of the meat could be made into plain smoked sausage. They tried to give me back 125 lbs of Sausage total. 25 lbs sweet chipotle, 25 lbs Green Onion, and 75 lbs smoked sausage plus backstraps and tenderloins back. They were trying to tell me it's because they add 50% pork, but I can't imagine dropping off roughly 80 lbs of quarters and neck meat to make sausage with to end up with 125 lbs of sausage. I didn't debone myself, my fault, and that alone was around $160.00 for processing. Needless to say when they called and told me my total was $786.00 I was shocked. Went to pick up and told them I only dropped off one deer not two, and they held fast that the total was correct. I was about to walk away and kiss the deposit good bye, asked him to knock off the smoked sausage and I would take the rest and they agreed.

Revised total was $486.00 for 50lbs of sausage, backstraps and tenderloins.

I haven't used them in years, and this helped reinforce to keep using Jason at Texan, Arnolds or Killian's in Hempstead from now on.
