I grew up fishing bistineau. Made in the same earthquake as Caddo and Reelfoot I believe. Cool place. Sad to see what the salvania does in those cypress raft lakes. It’s nasty stuff. Cool pics!

There and bistineau both!! Throw a rogue or a spinnerbait and you’re gonna catch em. Not sure how you toss the rogue on a fly rod!

Grew up and spent more time fishing and hunting there than anywhere else. Love the place.

I have caught plenty Pickeral on a fly rod. Up north they hit big ole 6-7” white and silver streamers or perch flies

I grew up in NW Louisiana and have fished Caddo and Bistineau a lot. Still get to Caddo a few times a year - both very unique lakes. Caught many Pickerel (Jack Fish)..they will hammer a spinner bait!

Beautiful pics! One of my first and fondest outdoor memories is running YoYo's from them cypress trees. Nothing like the sound of those sucker's going off in the dark to a 8yo kid. It's a Texas/LA treasure for sure.

                    Great pics, thanks for sharing.
Fished it twice, sunrise in the government ditch is bucket list worthy.

What is the “ government ditch?” Does the musician with the Eagles band still have a museum at Caddo?

I still have a couple buckets of Yo Yos! Those were good times. We usually started with Yo Yos as soon as duck season ended!

My mother in law went to school eith Don Henley and she didn't mention a museum or we would have gone to see it. Government ditch was a channel dredged for large boats for shipping
