    bowhunting in south korea

My boss just asked me if it would be ok for me to make a business trip to south korea for 2-3 weeks.. its not fixed, but tomorrow ill know if ill go.. i would leave on saturday... so not much time to plan.

Now im wondering if anyone knows something about hunting/ bowhunting over there.. would be way too cool to just pack my bow into my business luggage and go hunting on the weekends over there...

    thanks in advance!

I would guess that there are permits, etc., that must be acquired before taking a bow over there. Just a guess, though. I have no idea.

I have spent almost a year total in South Korea, when I was a field service engineer. Mainly in Ulsan and Geoji Si Island. I do not know of any hunting there, un-puposed woodland is at a premium. Since most of the Korean penisula is mountainous, they use every square inch of soil even on mountain terraces for farming.

What I can tell you is Archery is huge in South Korea, the Korean womens archery team is one of the best in the world and has the meddels to prove it. I have been to a few places in Asia, and by and large South Korea is my favorite. Hard working and serious during the day, hard drinking and fun at night. Thank goodness they only work 6 days there, I don't remember to many sundays from catching up on my missed sleep and giving my liver a Soju/Hite free rest.

That Soju is some bad stuff! Was there 83-84 in the Army and for 700 Won you could get a bottle of it with and Pepsi... 2 or 3 and you were in another world.

                          Sorry for the highjack....

Never did any animal hunting over there.
