My old size 10.5 Chippewa snake boots need replacing. There's a few spots that are cracked or cut, so unless I patch those somehow I'll never get them back to anywhere near water-proof and I hate wet feet. I've gotten cactus spines in through the sides of the Chippewas and would really like to find a boot with a little more protection. I'm considering another pair of them or the Danner Sharptail Gortex snake boot. I DO NOT want a lace-up boot. I'd appreciate a review from anyone that has real world experience with the Danner, or suggestions on a different top notch pull-on boot. Thanks in advance.

I have a pair of these

they are pretty comfortable But they are very tight in the ankle and hard to get on and off (for me anyways ) even with purchasing them a size larger.
I purchased a pair of Chips with the zipper up the back and for me they are a lot more comfortable.
I have tried some Danners on and when the time comes that’s what i’ll be going to.
Edit on the Twisted X- if you have a high instep which is what I have these aren’t a good choice. I pulled them on, filled them with water and walked in them for a day in RS , then I filled 1 gallon zip locks half full and stuffed them in the boots and packed a sack of buckshot on top then froze them over night and they still are a pain . Again, this is just meLast edited by Bucknaked; 11-25-2024, 09:31 AM.

I like tucking my justins under my jeans too. Looks just like a regular boot.

Love my Lacrosse zip/lace ups !
Prob. is, they discontinued a few years back.
Tried a year ago to find a replacement, only to feel they all didn’t fit good. Not sure what to do now. Chips def felt the most uncomfortable of all.
I wear wolverine work boots all day, may just stay in those.
prob just as tough, as the ones on the market these days.
