    Truball Axcel Driver Hunting Sight

Axcel has a new sight out called the Driver. Just looking at the design I'm interested in it. It's not cheap ranging from $499 to about $550 or so. It comes with a picatinny, bridge lock or standard mount in one, two, three or five pin configurations. The standard is a long bar and the picatinny or bridge lock are shorter. Bridge lock has a more compact scope bar. Pins are 010 or, for the old people like me 019. It has three adjustable sight markers. It's interesting. I've balked at the cost of the Ultra View. I may have to think about this one. I hope we get one in the shop so I can play with it.

I have an Axcel Landslyde with a Bridgelock, a three pin .010 horizontal, a Ranger single pin .010, and a Ranger 2 pin 0.19. Goodness I love this sight. The only thing I am not just banging gongs about is the brightness indoors.

The Driver has some kind of rheostat that slides over the scope housing. I'm not sure if this is an actual Rheostat or just a moveable shade that blocks light. It looks like just a shade to reduce light hitting the fibers, which would still be a rheostat, albeit a manual one.

The AXCEL sights have that and it works very well. It's a shade that slides up and around. Their pins are plenty bright in sunshine. The .019 pins are plenty bright, The .010 pins are much finer, but are bright enough if your eyes are good. If not, a white sight light is a good idea.
