The 308 was another story. After 4 shots and a hot barrel, they went all over the place. Once I let it cool between shots, it drove tacks.

I mainly hunt with a gen1 American Predator in 308. It has shot phenomenally from the first shots out of the rifle. I shoot handloads now, and it will stack them on top of eachother. Aside from the accuracy, what I really enjoy about it is the fact that I don’t have to worry about it getting dinged up. Yea it’s a cheap rifle, yes the stock leaves a lot to be desired, but it’s a battle wagon of a hunting rifle. I have a few gouges/scuffs on the stock that would break my heart if it was a wood stocked rifle, but it just adds a little character to the American and no big deal.

A huge fan of the three position safety this newer model now has.
Plus the flutes look cool and the thicker / less flexible stock has got to be an improvement over gen 1.
pull the break off and install a thread protector or linear comp to reduce the noise perceived at the shooters end.
I have a want for one of these, but entirely no need.
make it a 16” barrel and I’ll get even more interested.

I have made improvements to my Gen 1 that Gen 2 has improved upon. Gen 1 magazine was one of the weak spots that has been fixed.
