    Electrical Issue

My lease ride a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited wiring harness for the fuel injection was chewed on by rat making a new home. Does anyone have someone that can rebuild the harness? I am having a hard time finding an exact replacement.

Yeah, that is one thing I would listen to he’s recc. on. He’s in the thick of it in vehicle wiring systems.

The rat damage is so bad you can’t use crimp connectors make repairs to re-join the wires?

I reharnessed a friends four-wheeler a few years back. I ran into about a half dozen places where the wires on the other side of the connectors were also chewed. I just laid a new piece of wire next to the old, crimp connectors on each end, and taped the whole section. Like Bill said, unless it is a serious mess you can repair a lot of wires in an hours time. Match color for color and be careful to look for stripes on one side.

He chewed the clips down to nubs so it is hard to differentiate the color going into the clips to match it. Put it this way he was so mad when I put sticky pads under the hood to catch him, he chewed through half of it. I found him on the ground when he met his maker and from tip to tail he was 14 inches long.

I used butt connectors to fix mine when a squirrel made a nest against my fire wall on an 2006 Silverado and chewed through multiple wires. Making sure getting the right ones connected was a chore since I’m about half color blind.

Yep, sounds like a new harness is needed.
