    Fishing net recommendations

I'm looking, and there are so many. I don't want to break the bank on a landing net for coastal fishing. Thanks.

For coastal fishing, get something big enough to handle a large red or the like. You'll regret going too small if you hook into a good fish. I don't have anything with too long of a handle either but I fish mostly from a pier or boat. Academy, Walmart, or Bucees would have what you need and you may have more of a selection in stores closer to the coast than inland. Or get a gaff hook.

Bigger is better and also rubber netting so hooks, fins, etc.....don't get stuck in the nylon. I used telescoping so easier to store and still have good length and remember to lift vertical, handle straight up if good fish closes net and won't bend handle

Will this be used on a boat, pier, bank, pier, or wading?

Thanks for the comments. This is for fishing from the bank/pier.

Folding hoop with telescopic handle sized larger than the fish you expect to catch.

If you are not on an elevated surface then just a Basic cheap hoop net.

Crappie monster Outlaw net is my favorite but probably not suited for what you're wanting to do!

I appreciate the suggestions. I've been looking at them. I found one I like with a long handle but no folding and no telescopic handle. I'm not concerned with compactness. At Amazon, though. I want to look at Academy next week when I'm there, but that will give me only a week for an Amazon delivery. I don't get two-day delivery here in Colorado County.

Bill. Buy a good size net with a aluminum handle. Then go to lowes, home depot and get you a extension for rolling paint. Insert into the handle with a couple of bolts with wing nuts. Use to use this setup on piers years ago. Easy to assemble and break down for traveling.
