      Quite right.

I worked for a state agency for over 21 years and was responsible for hiring for the division I directed. I can tell you that never…not even once…was it suggested I make a hiring decision based on a quota. The same held true for all the other divisions within the agency as well.

I'm wondering. Do the applicants take a civil service exam and do vets get 5 extra points. That's how it works for SAFD

I stumbled across this requirement for Park Police a while back.... pretty interesting (makes me wanna try to see if I could pull it off)

          Handgun stability (Dry Fire)
          • Complete five consecutive dry fire trigger pulls with the index finger in the standing position, with both the left and right hand, holding the barrel within a 5-inch ring without touching the sides of the ring.
          • While holding the handgun with both hands, the applicant must transition to the kneeling position and dry fire the pistol five times while holding the barrel inside a 5-inch ring without touching the sides of the ring.
          • After the exercise is complete, the applicant is required to return to the standing position and using both hands pull the slide to the rear locked position therefore displaying a safe weapon.

Are they holding the pistol in the ring while pulling off the standing to kneeling transition?

Ok but this is straight from TPWD: You may want to tell them to delete this if its not true.

If a 10 minute row is keeping people out, then they really should reevaluate their fitness.
