    Any coyote hunters here?

Looks like I may need to become one. Our place has gone from zero coyotes and tons of deer, to few deer and tons of coyotes. Being a bow hunter, I'm not a coyote hunter, but it appears it's very much needed. Any tips and tricks would be huge. Obviously I need a call, but do you guys bait, Use the motion activated thingamajigs or what? How long do you sit at a spot. How do you pick a spot? Thx in advance

I bought a thermal last week, and I guess I’ve become a coyote hunter. In the first week of just sitting and watching in the back pasture behind my house, I’ve killed 5.

We run foot hold traps and snares year round. It has made a huge difference in fawn crops over the last three years.

I’ve killed 2 this year just sitting for deer and pigs. So we have a problem too, if daytime calling doesn’t work gonna break out the night vision and work on em after season

oh…. And a 300 win mag makes em really really dead

Not a coyote hunter, but back when I lived down south I called in a few hundred in about 4 years. Had some untapped territory.

Shoot me a PM and I’ll give whatever advise I can.

Thermal hunting over a dead cow or hog carcass works.

I would contact your County trapper. But we haven’ t had any luck getting our Brown county trapper to show up

Snaring And trapping will work. Especially on high fence crossings.

helicopter is the quickest way to get results in the right terrain
way too expensive for most of us.

This was during archery season. I shot a hog 2 days earlier and had 2 coyotes come in. I always have a gun with me during archery for stuff like this.

Yes that was the second time that happened. My son missed out on a buck 2 years ago from another misfire. Ive otherwise had good results. The last few boxes I got were packaged differently and had a silver colored primer instead of brass. Im guessing they changed it up. I still have a few of the older ones left, probably just use them on paper.

Took me a minute to find it but every single thing you need to know about Coyote/varmint hunting in general below. I’m sure technology has changed but the same rules apply..

Same thing happened to my cousin years back. He had a .300 Win Mag Barnes TTSX that misfired twice (two different rounds) on a cow nilgai. I have considered this bullet type for my .308 but decided against it because of his bad experience. Im hoping they fixed it since it is a great bullet.

Find someone who already knows what they're doing, and invite them out. It's a blast to do, but a pain in the *** to learn. Thermal scopes are a game changer.
