I think I would let / tell the kid to come tag it so he could have the horns and euro it. Just me.
Someone might as well get something out of it. I bet it would be a good reminder for the kid. Not only about hunting, but about how to treat a kid a couple
of decades down the road that might make a questionable / bad shot. Maybe.

Just curious on something like this. Did you give it to the neighbor or have them come get the horns? Or did you leave it lay?
My buddy (landowner) told the neighbor to come get the antlers if they wanted them. But he's still not happy for them building their blinds on his property line.
