85gr Muzzy One for light poundage??

Ethan shot a doe with a cut on contact 85gr Steel-Force the other day. He only has 2 of those left, plus 6 85gr Magnus.
Both of those are 4 blade (2 are bleeders).

    Found a deal on these 3 blade Muzzy's. $65 for 5 pks (15 heads)! 1" cut, 3 blade.

Anyone have any experience with them ?
    I shoot Muzzy Switch, w/no issues/great results.
These Muzzy 1's are coc - 1 piece so I'm thinking they should perform well at his low # and 18" draw.

I don’t see why they wouldn’t as long as they are in the right spot.

    hell of a deal.

Food for thought.. When my boy was still shooting low poundage, I actually went with a Heavier set up for penetration purposes..

I’ve never used them, but I’d bet they would work just fine. Just make sure they as sharp as you can possibly get them. Also, like said above, with low poundage and DW, it’s not a bad thing to go heavier. What is Ethan’s draw weight and total arrow weight?

          18" draw, 38-40#, don't remember for sure. 310gr including the 85gr head.
Albeit too far back, was complete passthru on doe at 16 yds.

Stick with cut on Contact heads. It’s hard to beat those Magnus Stingers 4-blade heads for penetration with low poundage. As others have said heavier is better. You can add weight with steel inserts or other such things without buying heavier shafts. Oh and the stingers will do better than buzz cuts. They will also put-perform those coc muzzles because of the steeper angle of the muzzy blades. And the 85 grain stingers are gonna be about the cheapest to buy.

              Those stingers are pricey !
15 muzzy ones for less than 6 of the Magnus.

How well do they hold an edge? Being super sharp would be my concern. I shot regular Muzzzzzys for years. Had to tune some of the heads. Those remind me of G5 Montechs.

Wasp makes a 75gr broadhead. Boss Bullet, been using them for years.

Well, if you can get those muzzy heads really sharp, I’d bet they would work just fine. At that DL and DW I would try to get a bit overall heavier arrow. Like Charlie said, the Stingers are really a better choice for that low poundage and DL.

Was in the archery shop getting the bow re-strung and was looking over the assorted BH in the display. Call me old but they all look so tiny compared to my
bear Razorheads and Rothaar Snuffers. Give me a heavy arrow at medium speed every day over one of the flyweight setups at marginally faster speeds.

Regardless of BH, he needs to get in the tree, lol.
