    How would you do it?

So, i had a customer come in yesterday to buy an excavator. We got to talking and they have 180ac high fence down near Floresville. They said it has some axis and blackbuck on it. They are going to start clearing it off and break it up into 10ac plots. He said they sold feeders and stands off it. He said they ride thru it on their utv but rarely see any of the axis. There's senderos cut thru it. They told me to bring my kids and come shoot some axis and blackbuck, and possibly whitetails. Would best thing be to drive the roads and corn them? Any other suggestions? With work, would probably be only able to hunt like day and a half, maybe two. days.

Thermals at night. Water holes maybe?

Axis do not go by whitetail rules. They are difficult to shoot at a feeder. Thermals at night is the best bet.

Corn the roads and senderos with a Truck or UTV feeder where they can hear feeder feeding and throwing corn. Pull over and stop out of sight within rifle range and wait. They will come.

alfalfa or chaffey with sweet feed over it will pull them in if they are close enough to smell it

Corn before dark and a good spotlight. You can tell axis and whitetail apart with different color eyes on a spotlight.

I would put out a few piles of sweet feed, in the purple and yellow sack at TSC. They like that stuff !

not to change the subject, but were they removing the high fence or just restocking with something else?

Definitely scatter alfalfa. It’s better than corn for axis. Keep your traffic to a minimum

They should keep the exotics on it. There's a company doing the same but are using the exotics for an AG exemption. There's a company that maintains the exemption so the buyers don't have to do anything.
