Snow Goose Hunt

Me and my bro had a good time snow goose hunting this morning. We killed two. We saw about 4,000, but they wouldn't give our a decoys a chance. Not bad for our first try at snow goose hunting and using homemade and borrowed stuff.

There a few geese in the area. A couple of big groups. Hard to decoy this time of year. They have been on the green grass and wheat pretty good around Garwood.

If so, hold on to all that borrowed stuff. I wanna try it this coming weekend. We have permission, I just need to call and tell him we're coming.

had some wheat fields around Cooper I use to hunt but haven't been out there in 2 years. We use to see quite a few in the wheat fields there. The land owner actually drained a 10 acre lake to try and get the geese to quit coming on his field. Didn't work.

Yeah that lake is a great place to hunt in the afternoon. But those geese would just walk out in the morning hard to hunt. I have a deep dep hate for those Delta Co. geese.

We were 5-7 miles west of Lake Cooper so we had them flying in in the mornings. Kind of miss it but never know much about how to hunt for Geese.

Nice you got a couple Justin. Keep at it, you should be able to get more if you are seeing those kind of numbers.
