    Guadalupe Peak lodging

I'm wanting to go hike Guadalupe Peak the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I see that the park has no available campsites, so I'm thinking about a hotel in Van Horn. Is there anything I should stay away from? Do they all stay booked up with oilfield traffic?

I want to do that hike as well just can't seem time to get out there for it. I did Wheeler Peak in NM last year. Good luck, should be a neat hike. Sorry, no advise for lodging.

I would stay in Carlsbad over Van Horn, only due to proximity. I stayed in Whites City when I did the climb.

The road between Van Horn and Guadalupe Peak is a must do drive though.

Whatever you do, do no eat at Chuy's in Van Horn.

A username like yours…I’ll take that advice.

Stay at El Capitan in Van Horn. It’s a very cool historic hotel. Not much oil field traffic that far west.
