squirrel chewed his way into my feeder fix

i have a feeder at my house its a large plastic barrel had a few deer at the pond so i figured id fill the feeder that we hadnt in awhile but when i went to fill it noticed a squirrel had chewed a hole into it large enough for him to get into the barrel to get the remaining corn out of it my adpoted son said we can fix it i was going to duct tape it and screw some screen mesh over it he had a better plan and it worked great we took a folgers coffee bucket and my heat gun and melted it to it worked better than we hoped for
