Has anyone used Sumo springs or Timbren springs instead of airbags?

I had sumo springs on my F150, I think the 1500 lb model. Road like a board. We have them on our work trucks as well and unless you have a load they are really rough. I liked the zero maintenance aspect but the ride quality suffered significantly. They reduced the sag on my truck several inches when I had the golf cart loaded in it.

Every helper spring, we’ve ever tried made the truck unbearable when empty. I’ve found airbags to be a far better option, and they don’t take much longer to install.Last edited by Dale Moser; 10-10-2024, 11:57 AM.

I love my Timbren's, and I don't say that much about anything.
They don't touch when empty so don't affect unloaded weight.
Silly part here is my truck came with an exrta leaf that no longer makes contact with its stop due to the Timbren's.
When I drove with a 4 wheeler in the bed pulling my trailer on the factory overload leaf the truck felt like it would slightly wobble side to side in the rear.
Now doing the same thing on the Timbren's it rides planted.
I'm a fan.
Here's a pic of it in action this summer-

I have Sumos on my Titan Pro4X. Takes all the bounce out on bridges or the like with the travel trailer on. They don't touch when no load. I have the lesser of the two made for my truck since I don't haul all the time. I had them take these off of the 2018 I traded in and put on this 2021. Call and talk to them, costs you nothing.
