How to remove and reinstall screw in earth anchors

We moved a couple metal buildings from our previous residence and I am struggling to remove the anchors. I bought a socket off amazon but the Milwaukee battery impact would barely turn it. I flattened the end of a piece of pipe and slipped over the eyelet and used a pipe wrench and was able to turn is but had to use a cheater pipe on the pipe wrench and had my son holding the pipe on the anchor straight up and down as I walked in circles. Still very slow.

I was told to use a power pony like that which is used to thread pipe. I didn't have much luck finding one to rent.

I was considering a 1" impact and buying a socket to sacrifice by cutting notches to set over the eye or to weld to my pipe.

Anyone have other ideas or have done this before? I have 13 to remove and 19 to install

When I moved a carport I dug them up with a backhoe. Those suckers grow to the ground !

I "found" some on a piece of property I was cleaning up

Lucked out and was able to pull them up with the hydraulic lift on the tractor (ground was wet)

            Mobile home anchors

I do know the mobile home folks have some kind of big impact/hammer drill to install them, might check if you have a local mover and see if he would remove them for a reasonable fee?

If ground is dry and hard I’ve destroyed them trying to back out. If they are that bad I’d dig…. Which is probably even more work. Or cut off below deck and just get new one

We have always waited until wet season and lift with bucket or tractor hydraulic lift. Always have spares so use those until we can reclaim. As mentioned by others have destroyed a few trying during dry season.

Might check with a local equipment rental company. I rented one to move a mobile home long years ago in Lubbock. Don't know if anyone still rents them. Good luck.

yep. Time is money. Unless you got a backhoe to dig them youre gonna spend more time digging them up in this hard dry ground than its worth to buy new ones,

Dig out about a foot deep hole around it and take your water hose and keep filling them with water for a few days. It would be way easier to cut below ground and buy new ones.

if you already have or know someone with a 1" air impact that would likely be your best bet of backing them out without too much sweat. But I wouldn't buy one just for that. Just cut them off below grade if that's the case.

I do not have to cut them off as I can leave them behind, but I do need to them or new ones for the 2 buildings we moved. So I am going to have to purchase or rent a tool (unless I just dig a hole and put them in-but I do not prefer as it would not be in compacted/undisturbed soil). This concerns me because I have a 3rd building that was built onsite last year and blew away in the Hurricane because the building company did not include anchors in the cost. We are currently in legal proceedings with them over this. I do not want to have this happen again with buildings I moved and installed.

I am leaning towards buying a 1" impact for 190$ at harbor freight and a socket (another 30$) to modify to fit. The money for the impact and the cost of purchasing the impact are about the same, but I would have the tool to put them all back in.

They are only like 10 bucks each. But I need 13 removed and 19 installed. I have 6 loose ones. I will have to buy 13 if I cannot remove the old ones and I still need to screw in 19
