    How old are these carts?

I've had these old carts stored in my shop for several years and don't know much about them. Seen them listed as railroad carts.

They both are constructed with Oak wood and the wheels are cast iron. Lots of square nuts on the bolts and shafts.

The smaller one has the words, " J R Regnas and Company---The Truck Makers---Atlanta Georgia".

I've seen some being used as coffee tables.

These are kind of heavy. Are they from the 1930's or perhaps even earlier?

They are rail station carts (were also used at gins and mills).

They were in use, in many places, until the early '60s.

I have an account In industry that uses a few of these to unload feed and dog food on a daily basis and they are still working just fine! I see them on Craigslist from time to time selling from $150-$300 depending on condition. They do use them as coffee tables but I think they are a bit short.

We had a couple in the warehouse back in the 70's we used getting the door cleared on a railcar full of barite or bentonite.

I remember seeing them at the cotton gin when I was a kid.I would say they date back to the 30s

I've seen them listed at 350 up to 500. They're the "in" thing for coffee tables.
