I live in Kingsland, about 20 miles from Burnet. I keep hearing that more arrests will follow. Who knows? 🤷‍♂️

Never been to that Church but common thought is that the folks running it are "sketchy", as a friend told me.

Apparently hes been arrested a few times, once for making a false police report.
Churches oughta do a better job vetting their Deacons...
I believe the preacher and his son and maybe one other church employee will be arrested soon, and maybe not just for this hoax.

I haven't heard that but it wouldn't surprise me. Everything about this seems shady including the pastor

From their FB page, sounds like their leaving town.

FINAL POST FOR THE EPICENTER – BURNET, TX
              SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2024

In August of 2004, Front Line Ministries, Inc. … a state & nationally recognized non-profit evangelical ministry organization located it’s global ministry efforts to Burnet, TX. In October of 2005, the ministry made the decision to launch The Epicenter … a Texas Hill Country extension of Front Line Ministries, aimed at reaching & discipling the youth culture of the surrounding region. The Epicenter quickly gained attention from the entire community of Burnet, and the scope of The Epicenter expanded beyond just youth, into a region-wide ministry that quickly became known as Church at The Epicenter, though the actual name of the ministry has remained simply … The Epicenter.

Over the past 20 years, the ministry of The Epicenter has flourished in the area of our state known as the Texas Hill Country. Though not a traditional local church entity, The Epicenter has forged an identity as a regional Kingdom Center, aimed at reaching, teaching, training, equipping and sending discipled believers all over the state, nation, and to the nations to advance the Gospel of The Kingdom of God. Were all believers who have benefitted from and passed through the ministries of The Epicenter, it would host a congregation into the thousands. Seeds of the ministry are spread across the state of Texas, across the United States of America, and into numerous foreign nations! Today, we rejoice at the undeniable impact of this ministry through the uncompromising commitment of its leadership and its people to transform the cultures of this world!

That said, since January of this year (2024), the leadership of Front Line Ministries AND The Epicenter have been sensing that the season for this ministry was drawing to a close in this region of our state. Many hours of prayer and discussion have led us to simply “wait upon The Lord”, and trust in His guidance.

Recent events that have unfolded at The Epicenter, and the response of this community surrounding those events, have confirmed that it’s time to dissolve the arm of Front Line Ministries known as The Epicenter, in Burnet, TX. The elders of The Epicenter, in cooperation with the board of directors of Front Line Ministries, voted unanimously (7-0/4-0) to make the 10am service on Sunday, October 27th, the final corporate gathering of The Epicenter. It was an exciting, powerful service for those who gathered … including elders, leadership, and people from over the past 20 years who gathered to celebrate the 20 years of ministry that has flowed forth from The Epicenter!

The physical plans now begin to dissolve The Epicenter, according to the laws of the State of Texas, and we will begin seeking what The Lord intends to be the “next” for its people. We have already received calls from Austin-area churches, as well as others from around the hill country expressing interest in continuing what The Epicenter has grown to stand for over the past 20 years! In addition, 1 prominent business has reached out to express an interest, as well. It is the preference of both Front Line Ministries and The Epicenter that, if at all possible, the property & facilities remain within the community of faith.

To the thousands who have been a blessing TO us, have been blessed BY us, and have reached out to express their love and support FOR us … we say THANK YOU! Over the past 20 years, it has been our honor to cover, minister to, and serve the people who have been involved in any aspect of our ministry.

We pray blessings upon all believers, all churches, and all ministries in Burnet, and across the Texas Hill Country. Our ministry in this area has been the most molding, shaping, and growth-producing time of our 45+ years in ministry. As we relocate our efforts, a part of us will always remain in the Texas Hill Country … through those who have in any way been a part been the journey over the past 20 years.

              Blessings!
