I love me some mom & pop stores that have the deli’s, these samich’s seem to always taste better with all the trimmings.

Any ratings on fast food are going to be location dependent. There are chains I have no problem with, except the ones in my area. I wouldn't eat at the Sherman Popeye"s on a bet. The Whataburger is lackluster at best, etc. , but others I have been to are good(relative).

Yes I bet you and your spouse are glad to have retired from your restaurant. Have you gotten where you want to be around people yet? Especially after having to be on your game everyday around the customers and now you can be around the folks you can chose to be around.
My mom ran a small cafe/restaurant for 40 plus years and mercy the ups and downs would have driven me crazy, not to mention the people, finding reliable employees.

You are spot on with your assessment of being in the food or any retail business as far as that goes. Besides close friends and family you just want to be left alone for a few years.🤣🤣
