I was on a bear/deer lease for 2 years just north of Broken Bow. Not huge bears, but I shot one with my bow

Ya it don’t have to be a **** grizzly bear! So beings it was a lease did you bait for them or just wait for them to stroll in?

baited. That was the fun part. I had already taken 2 black bear in Canada prior so I was just enjoying the entire experience of picking a spot, setting up the bait station and watching the pictures until season opened. You better be in the stand on opening day cause you have about a 2 or 3 day window before the bear will get wise to people in the woods and stop showing up. I never hunted deer there, just bear. I kept my deer lease to hunt whitetail. It was only about 3 hours from DFW so not a bad drive to check out the bait station every few weeks. The lease was surprisingly cheap as well.

NMex. I've killed three out there (recovered two). Stayed at the Inn of the Mountain Gods.

ID:	26912002 Not far, New Mexico has good bear hunting. I went with New Mexico Hunting Adventure last year. It was a hound hunt, there were 6 of us in camp and we all got a nice bear.
