    ? for crossbow shooters.

I bought an Expedition Viking series X430 crossbow, but have never shot it. It came with 3ea 20" bolts that weigh 305 grains with no point but fletched and such, but no writing on the bolts. The info I found says this crossbow has a draw weight of 200#'s. If you can tell me, what are the best bolts to use with this crossbow and the best place to buy some? Thanks in advance!

Idk about whack bolts are best, but I do know there are 2 different kinds of nocks for the bolts and the specific to certain Xbows. Make sure you get the right ones for your setup.

There are actually more than 2 types. You need to make sure you pay attention like Bisch said. Half moon, flat, capture, etc. all different kinds. Some crossbows won't fire without the correct nock. Some will be dangerous to shoot with the wrong one.

As far as the best bolts, that is the same as asking the best arrows. It's subjective. Just make sure they are the same length for your crossbow and the same nock type. As long as those match you should be good.

My boys shoot the Raven Crossbow and I just buy the Raven bolts, but that's mainly because there aren't a lot of bolt manufacturers that sell the "capture" nock that is required to shoot the Raven.

Regardless of what you'd like to use, I would use something of equivalent to the bolt weight of the original bolts. Or heavier. Make sure you have the same type nock as well.

I went a little heavier. It won’t be quite as fast but it will be a little quieter. I also put BoxJax limb dampeners on mine to help with the noise. As already said, use the same type of nock that your bolts came with and make sure the bolt is seated against the string. Keep your off hand out of the string path or we will be calling you Nubby !
