What is a TBH Express and how does it work?

It has occurred to me that there are lots of new members who are not familiar with a TBH express. In a nutshell, it is free shipping and a chance to meet fellow TBHers.

When someone has a need to send something - product, puppies, people - to another TBHer, they post a call for a TBH express. If there are special details about it, it should be noted in the post. For example, time frame requirements, need of a pick up truck, what it is, etc. The volunteer member will work out pick up and delivery times and dates with both members.

While there are some down sides such as you may not get it quickly, the volunteer should assume responsibility for safe pick up and delivery of the items, and it is not as convenient as costly shippers like FedEx, UPS, delivering to your door, but it is more reliable than USPS and I have never had a bad experience with a TBH express.

TBH express is my most preferred method of getting things around the state. The longer the distance, the less likely an express will work, but I have put together some doozies of expressed that involved 4 volunteers. I have also seen expresses deliver from Houston to Memphis, TN.

Give it a try next time you have the opportunity. You will get to meet some really great people.

I've paid for guns sight unseen, knowing a stranger was going to pick them up and bring them to me 3 weeks later. I've never even worried about getting taken advantage of.

Heck, I even sent my kids to school with a TBH express once.

Tracey, I have been the beneficiary of the “TBH express” several times, twice with you and Stacey as facilitators. I’ll take this opportunity to thank everyone who has expressed stuff to me and I always open those threads to see if I can help, but I rarely can. I just don’t travel much !

Good on you for starting this thread.

It’s a great gesture and I definitely try to help when and where I can. I haven’t been able to help you yet, but I have helped hoggslayer and Drycreek a couple times each. 😉

Several others as well, and it’s always been a pleasure! You meet some dang good people like that, plus helping people out so they’re not going out of their way or paying elevated shipping fees.

I've had my fair share of TBH expresses. Both had someone delivered and delivered myself. Its a great gesture and has fell to the wayside. I think it has a lot to do with the community as a whole. Doesn't have the same FEEL as it used to. BUT there's hope. I started intermittently heavy hauling and need to get back on here to offer more often.

I cannot recall all of the people who have stepped in for me or Ive stepped in to carry stuff but I can recall all fo the people Ive met.

Ive had a lot of people lately ask me what it is so I figured it was time to explain it. Hopefully more people will take advantage of this and see why TBH is so different from other platforms.

It’s an awesome service! I once bought a new trailer that was expressed to me. I think it changed hands 5 times before it got to me. Never worried about it even once. And I once had a couple items come from Colorado all the way to central Texas. No issues. I’ve sent taxidermy mounts all over the state, and have hauled stuff for more people than I can remember. Works great for all involved.

Fairly young buck here but I have transported pistols, shotguns, and steer heads via TBH for members. Always end up talking in the parking lot for 30 minutes with the buyer and seller about various things and striking up laughs.

For anyone interested in future TBH express offers, I travel almost weekly from SA to HOU, the Valley, and can get items to Temple/Waco with relative ease.

I once bought a gun, sight unseen, from a TBHer in North Texas. Dale Moser picked it up for me and put it in his safe until I could come get it. It sat there for about a year, when FishNDude picked it up from Dale and brought it to the Houston area where I met up with him. I'd never met Dale, though he had sent me some really nice things to settle our Astros vs. Rangers bets.

I once met someone in Houston that was going to take a Taylor guitar to West Texas and come back with a Beretta Cynergy. I didn't know the TBHer on the other end. I didn't know the Expresser. Express went perfectly as they always do.

I literally have dozens of stories like this.

I’ve never had to express anything but have been the expressor a few times for people who I have never met. All transactions went as planned.

I've been on the delivery side and receiving end of many over the years. It's a great service! 👍

An express hand off is how I met Nursejenn. As a matter of fact we were involved in transfers twice. One was a boat motor and the other was getting a handgun to Grayson.

I too have depended on a TBH Express several times and have been 100% pleased. Have met some great guys during this process.

Never had a bad experience. Got a full Bobcat mount on a two step express from south Texas to dfw. Picked up a savage rifle in a parking lot from a members wife and sent a lawn mower in the back of a members daughters suv.

Tbh just knows how to get stuff done!

Too many deliveries completed and received to count. It works.
