    Question about 4 wheeler brakes

Before I left the lease today I decided to start up my ATV (Grizzly 550) since it has been sitting idle for a couple months. I immediately noticed the hand brake levers had no pressure or resistance. There was hardly any fluid showing in the reservoir sight glass and I hope a bleed/flush/refill will fix it. The question is about the foot brake. Instead of sitting up 2-3” off the floorboard it was laying flat and had no spring to it. Doesn’t the foot brake just operate a cable that goes to the rear end or is it fluid/master cylinder operated? Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated - when I go back out I want to make sure I take everything I need to fix it. (I’ve been googling but haven’t found the answer)

There is a " fluid" cylinder for the rear brake too.

So I guess there’s another fluid resovoir in the back somewhere I’ll have to find. If bleeding and changing the fluid doesn’t fix the problem does that mean a bad master cylinder? Kinda odd that the front and rear brakes went out at the same time

Should be reservoir on both sides. Pedal works a cable that goes to handle as well if I remember correctly. They are disc brakes not drum like the old Honda

          They are rebuildable

Sounds like it has a leak in a rear wheel cylinder. Fill the reservoir and pump the hand brake and see what happens.

So one of the two resovoirs on the handlebars is for the rear brakes or is there another one under a rear fender somewhere?

Both on the front brake handles.

You have a leak somewhere. The brake fluid is in a contained system, so there is no where for it to go unless there is a leak.

Rear brake reservoir is under the seat right hand side on mine.
