    5.7 x28mm debate

ok me and a buddy have an ongiong debate. he says thats its the best round since sliced bread. especially for personal defense. my take on it is it's too light a bullet and to fast. zip right through people. not knockdown. its great for personal security detail. epseically in the p90. light compact and able to throw lots of lead to keep heads down while moving the prinicipal out of the kill zone. im not saying it wont kill but i believe there are too many other rounds uot there that are better for dropping bad guys and small game than that one. anyone on here able to give opinions on it or had experience with it.

I could take it or leave it

        9mm for comparison

It's neat. I just don't see myself personally having a use for it.

Just one question....How much PSD, PSS, PPO work have you done to make such a statement?

The round is designed to fragment. Its fast and blows up. I was watching a thing on tv about it the other day.

edit I have shot a ps90 a little and cant say i was impressed.

Totally dependant on the round being used, but to the contrary, it was not designed to fragment

Frangibles are a specifically designed class of PROJECTILE... not a calibre-specific 'round'.

NOTE: I am NOT mil./LEO or a trainer at HCT. But I did marketing research for one of the leading frangible designers (several years ago).

Tuffbroadhead is right for commenting about the variance in rounds. Only a few are available to the public so you'd have to compare them all to really know. In addition to that, you'd have to compare the difference between the best 5.7 round and other rounds available to the public. I have a ps90. What I CAN say is that the blue tip SS is an extremely fast and accurate round but I've yet to shoot anything with so i can't say much about the ballistics.

I know with the right projectile, it will defeat body armour and Kevlar out of a handgun. The P90 is fun to shoot
