    Need Lubbock Mechanic

My youngest is going to Tech, we're in the Austin area. He called today and said the brakes on his truck feel like they are grinding and making a funny noise. The break pads probably need to be replaced. Can anyone recommend an honest mechanic to take a look at it and do the work if pads are needed? He drives a 2007 Tundra. Thank you in advance.

I’d take it to the Toyota house here. I’ve had 3 Tundra work trucks, so I take all of them there. I take my personal trucks elsewhere, but they’re never Toyotas. I’ve been happy with the prices and service I’ve received at the dealer here. I’m also someone who typically hates using dealers for service. If you wish not to use him I can recommend a good mechanic, but he’s several weeks out. Rey Sanchez at RS Automotive. I’ve known him since I was a young kid, and he’s always been a stand up guy. I’ve used him for any of my non Toyota needs here.

If you want an independent mechanic rather than a dealership, HUD’s on west 82nd is as honest as they come and do great work. My truck will be there tomorrow afternoon for the exact same issue.

Dalton’s automotive has done pretty good for several of our work trucks. Everything from transmissions to brakes to fuel pumps. They are near 98th and Slide Rd.

Williams brake, tire, and tune has done several repairs for me on several different vehicles. I always felt like I was done right.

FYI called Hud's they are running several days out, called Rey at RS automotive as suggested, super nice guy and said he would try to get to it first thing in the morning. Green screen again for the win, I'll update when the repairs are made, always looking to help a stand up service provider.

HUD’s is usually a day out, but I have noticed this summer it was taking 2+ days to get to our vehicles.
