    Archery Pronghorn Hunt Recommendations

Myself and a couple others are looking to do a Pronghorn Archery hunt next year or sooner than later. I’m fairly certain it’s dang near impossible to spot and stalk one into bow range and we’ll need to sit over water? Does anyone have an outfit/ranch they recommend and can give any pointers on how to hunt them with a bow?

If you draw Montana this guy is hanging out on public land next to ours. If you’re in a pickup, you can get 30 yards away before they spook.

i watched a bowhunter do a spot and stalk on a bedded pronghorn on the public land- from my dining room with binos. He came up on the other side of a finger on a big, bedded buck.

i spent a lot of time for 2 archery seasons in a ground blind near trails they travel to feed and never got a shot. They do not pattern at all.

Once again I did not draw a Montana resident rifle tag.

Spot in stalk is very much possible and depends a lot on terrain. I’ve personally killed a pronghorn spot in stalking in New Mexico with a bow shot at 40 yards. There’s lots of factors that play in getting in done. I like to use the sun to my advantage at first or last light. You can get the sun at your back in the bucks eyes and work you way right at the. 60-70 yard shots are pretty regular in the areas I hunt.

I went to Werner Ranch near Douglas, WY a few years ago and it was a top notch place to hunt. Accommodations were adequate, but not fancy. Antelope were abundant and plentiful!!!!!
