    UTV Cage Chop

Does anyone have a recommendation for someone in the Conroe/Tomball/Magnolia area that can do a cage chop on a Can Am Defender Max XMR? Also, for those that have done it what is a ballpark price and things to consider?

Ive never had them do anything but theres a place on Spring Cypress, west of 249 that always have some wild stuff parked out from.

At one time there was a shop on the other end of spring cypress closer to 45 that did some builds for a local fire dept. I saw the rig from the road and went to check them out. The head dude walked around this brush fire buggy he built for the FD. The welds and paint alone looked like it came from a 5th grade fab shop. Maybe they got better at grinding now. IDK

I called 3P earlier to see if they did this work as I have bought some parts from them in the past.

Tater Toys is Conroe. How much chop are you wanting? Anything more than few inches will likely require a seat chop too depending on how tall you are. Also any windshields you have will no longer fit.

Not really sure at this point. Will be taking some measurements to figure that part out. I know about the windshield, only thing that sucks about it. Another option is returning the tire size to stock and relocating the light bars to below the roof line. If I can keep it 82" or less then it will clear (barely).

Relocate the light bar, and let the air out of the tires. Your head will thank you. The first time you forgot how close it is you’ll have a headache to remember. Ask me how I know.

Trying to get it inside a trailer or cool factor?

Trying to fit, I'd think I'd move light bar for sure if mine was on the roof id rip it off on a limb already. And it seems for what a chop would cost, you could get a complete new set of rims and tires to swap back and forth

I’d move the light bar (or replace with spots mounted lower), deflate tires and install a 12V air compressor. Bit that’s just me. I’d be concerned about structural issues if God forbid you rolled it.
