    I hate bluestem!

I live on 3.47 acres and this stuff is taking over certain areas of the property. Does anyone have a method of controlling this stuff without using glyphosate, burning, digging or plowing it up? I'm looking at getting a boom sprayer for the property so I can spray for thistles and other weeds.

Yes. I've used MSMA on it before at another home, but now I've got more acreage and I don't have a license for the stuff.

Target 6. It’s msma. Takes two applications and then some touch up in places. That’s what it took for me. I’ll probably have to repeat it again next spring, but it looks to have worked well. It’ll burn your Bermuda some but it comes out looking better than before. It’ll roast St. Augustine though.

What kind of sprayer were you using?

Do I have to have an applicator's license to order Target 6?

Well, that counts me out. Any other options?

Not really without killing everything else around it. There’s a turf farmer on here from Boling area who might be of more help.

What percentage of the 3.47 ac consists of KRB? And is it scattered or concentrated in a specific area?

Man I'm in the same boat but with Bahia grass. It is slowly taking over my entire 4 acre yard. It is choking out my St Agustine and Bermuda. I hate the crap with a passion. Hard to mow clean and grows fast..

Target 6 at 2 quarts per acre will put a hurting on bluestem especially if you add extra crop oil with it, you shouldn’t need a liscense but not 100% certain. Also Pastora at 2.0 oz per acre with a non-ionic surfactant will suppress it with a couple applications 10-14 days apart.
