TPWD Bowhunter Eduction - Field Course

My son needs this for a draw hunt.

There are only 2 dates in September available for the outdoor field course this year so far.

Do they typically offer more each year - or does he need to grab one of those spots?

Assuming he is under 17 years of age I’d jump on any course you can find. When TPWD and NBEF decided to offer online only (17 and up) that put a stop to most of the courses.

Look into Texas Youth Hunting Program TYHP.org and they have some hunts including bowhunter ed. Don't know if it will be early enough for you, or if you'd get selected for the hun, but that's another option.
