Disabled Vets with 50% or Greater VA Rating--free Super Combos

I was reading on the retired newsletter and discovered that if you have 50% or greater rating that you get a Super Combo license for free--need to take your VA paperwork to the license retailer and show your ID.

That’s where I started, and then with the passage of the PACT Act things were simplified a bit. Our city has a veterans service center with folks who know how to navigate thru the system and a buddy who is wearing grenade frags from VN in his brain got upgraded substantially and encouraged me to go for it. Only thing that I could list as a service-related issue was several bulged disks in my lower back. Even though I have a thyroid issue and that is a presumed Agent Orange matter, they wouldn’t recognize it as such. My spine doc had ordered an MRI and I sent a copy of it to the VA and next thing I get the letter saying “50%”. Strangest thing to me (former chopper pilot) was that my hearing loss is service connected but is rated at 0% disability—go figure.

Yes sir, first time getting my SC for free but still paid full price for fed duck stamp, completely fine with that.
