Tows a lot better than I expected.

I do not haul nothing real heavy, but so far so good.

'09 Chevy Half Ton Crew Cab 4x4 5.3 Engine: around 17 in town 19-20 on the road. In either case, if you are dogging the engine, you are gonna pay the price in gas mileage.

                  20 highway 18-19 general driving.
No problems when towing, pulled a 26' travel trailer to central Texas with no problems.

i have a 2010 with the 5.4, it has 33 15.5 r18 tires, and wheels, with full replacment bumpers front and back, and three tool boxes, so in other words its heavy. with my custom chip i cant get about 17mpg on the highway, and about 13 in town, but i do drive rather fast, i got boared one day and figured out that it will get 11mpg going 110pmh.

I had a 2008 2wd supercrew with the 5.4 and got around 14 in town and about 16-17 highway. But I just traded it in on a 2012 4wd supercrew with the 5.0 last week and getting about 16-17 around town right now but I have not had it on the highway yet. Everyone keeps talking about the ecoboost let me tell you the 5.0 will run; you can feel the 32v when you need it.

i have an '08 gmc z71 crew cab. i average about 430-440 miles on each tank. so i'm right around 17 mpg or a little under in the city. highway probably closer to 20 if i keep it under 75 mph.
