Went up to check my sunflowers and sesame 2 weeks ago and saw very few birds the entire weekend. We're in Hamilton county almost at the Comanche county line. Hopefully a different story this weekend.........

The heyday for dove in our area was definitely the 90's, its never reached the #'s we used to see then. It seems to go in cyles from good to poor but never great never thought about snowmegddon cause the problem, I've always thought it was because no one plants milo anymore because of the sugar aphids, in fact I'm seeing a bunch of fields are left fallow, no corn or cotton, since covid.

I’ve been seeing plenty around- I was actually saying I’m seeing more than last few years. I guess like ducks. Some folks get better numbers every year. I’m just glad to go kill a few

Last year we had more doves than I’ve ever seen so far this year it’s pretty light at my home place. Hopefully they make their way here soon.

I saw enough by a detention pond on 99 yesterday to make me want to sit under a road sign one afternoon

I saw about 50 last night watching football practice on a turf field...and about 20 driving the 10 miles there from the house.

It was in the eighties and nineties but there were really good numbers there all season long. I’m sure they have lost the dc moniker in the dove festival advertising. There is generally almost no hunters there even opening weekends.

Could be. That was about the same timeframe they stopped farming peanuts in the area as well. Back then, you could stack mallards like cordwood as well if you had access to good water.

I saw quite a few West of Mueschke around the pond on the north side of 99 all the way down to 290. Same one?
