It's not gone but shut down. Travel at your own risk.... heard also if you get stuck down there you're on your own. No help is willing to go down there.

impossible? You will never make it with that attitude. The hurricane did make a new cut on the beach before Mitchells. I have seen pics of a few idiots on facebook cross it, but I dang sure wouldnt..

Far East end probably half a mile or so from Mitchell's.

It's close to the old Brown Cedar Cut. Two weeks ago a shrimper friend told me it wasn't very deep. Take that for what it's worth (not much). From the Sargent side it's doable, the road is pretty much gone.
