    Fishing at Inks, Buchanan, LBJ?

Taking my 6 year old Grandson camping/fishing up in this area over the holiday weekend. We will be bait fishing, boat is a 18' flatbottom. Any pointers on areas to try? Crappie, Catfish etc. We are staying in Bertram at ABB camper and I plan on trying Buchanan up close to the river, looks like a potential good area for cats. I was at Llano County park yesterday and walked the ramp, I can launch off it. I'm not all familiar with the area. If there are better places to launch, I'm open to advice

I think the ramp at the LCRA park in Tow is open. It’s called Cedar Point I believe.

I din't even know they had a public ramp over there. OP, if that won't work then use the Burnet County Park. You will NOT want to drive a flat bottom from the Llano park all the way to the river. If there is any kind of breeze it can get awful in a hurry on Buc.

Be careful on buch in a flat bottom like Chance said that lake can get crazy rough in a hurry with any kinda wind.
inks is a good lake as well and have caught plenty of crappie and tons of bass on it. Lbj is great to depending on the boat traffic but it's got a ton of whites and crappie. Can launch at heart of Texas and go towards the dam coming from inks.

Growing up I had very good luck getting plenty of blue cats on garlic soaked chicken and beef livers set on jugs and trot lines.
We caught a handful of 30lb-ish yellow cats on cut perch. This was all on the far east side of Buchanan near the Thunderbird Marina/Lodge.

Try the upper end of Marble Falls. You can put in at the Cottonwood Shores subdivision ramp. You can start fishing right there.

Buck sucks right now, I’d go to marble falls.
