    Refacing kitchen cabinets $$ ??

Average size kitchen. Would like to reface doors and drawers. Probably upgrade to hidden hinges and soft close drawers. Paint grade wood. Anyone have this done and comment on price? I'm sure it will be cheaper than a full kitchen remodel! I hope at least.

I am betting that you have have better wood in your original cabinets than you could buy to reface yours. Do you have any pictures?

Have you seen the companies that vinyl wrap
your cabinets. You can change colors then go back to original wood

They are not bad. Just a much more traditional face with beveled edges. Would probably go more modern clean lines. Not trying to go flush or anything fancy.

I’ve got about 22’ linear feet of uppers and lowers. When I built the house in 02’ I had them done in knotty pine with glass insert doors in the uppers.

when we did the add on and remodel 9 years ago the cabinet guy said there was no reason to scrap that cabinets. And he used a 1/4” overlay on knotty alder and new doors and drawers, with hidden hinges for under $2k …. That was 9 years ago. But still cheaper than new and they look great

Those look like 3/8” inset doors.

I would talk to a shop about building you some 1/2” overlay shaker doors and drawers fronts (maybe replace the drawers and drawer fronts with soft close under mount slides), sand and paint the face frames and a new counter top.

if you have no structural damage to the boxes that would be a quick less expensive route to take.

Make sure you work with a legit contractor or shop. That’s the hard part!
