Iowa. I am sitting on the porch right now and it's kinda chilly. It was near 90 yesterday. It's going to be nice all next week and back up in the 90s towards the end of the week for a couple of days. The winter is not bad here in SE Iowa. We live 4 miles north of the Iowa/Missouri state line.

We made our move here to Montana 2 years ago to get away from the rat race AND to escape the scorching Texas summers. We’re in the Helena area so we get all four seasons. I wish we’d have made this move 20 years ago. We love winter activities so it’s my favorite time of the year. Obviously it gets really cold here “at times” but for the most part, it’s easily bearable with the right clothes.

We still come back to Texas for what we call the 3 F’s, family, friends and food. This year I’m going to start coming back to hunt some of the deer season, so it’s been a real blessing.

About what time of year to y’all get that first front of arctic air pushing down from the north? If memory serves, it’s either September or October.

I haven’t traveled much. But I do hate really cold weather.
I found NW Arkansas around Bentonville to have bearable weather year “round.

Really tired of these 100+ days in “The Heartlands” around Brownwood. And the droughts. Spring and Falls are short but nice. Wasn’t for the great, conservative, rural people I might not like it so much.
