I also have had really good luck with timex in the past and have one of their self wind Marlin's they brought back a few years ago based on 1960s model.

After I got my rolex, I felt like I needed another watch for wearing to the deer lease or any places I was worried about taking my rolex. I like the tudor sub, but prefer the vintage snowflake and patinas that you can get on the older watches and actually found a guy on reddit that makes them using seiko parts. I was able to get it for ~$300 and it has been a really great watch so far. I get tons of compliments on it.

    Good luck in your search.
While I’ll admit, that Seiko is quite sexy, nothing beats the timeless elegance of that Rolex.

Wore a Rolex submariner everyday 20+ years, got a fib and needed apple watch for the ecg. Sold the Rolex for a little more than paid for it. Ablation fixed my afib, been thinking about getting a yacht master but haven’t pulled the trigger. Silly but there are perks to wearing a nice watch in a lot of situations and they can also make you a target in other, you’ll be surprised how many people notice.

I bought a Rolex Date Just in 1977 and wore it regularly for about 20 years. Serviced twice and now a safe queen which comes out for special dates. I bought a Seiko kinetic in 2007 and it is a daily wear. Replaced the actuator in it and it's still humming. Watch repair dude said this Seiko is tuff as a tank.

What are some reputable online shops for used watches? Anyone own an orient watch- seems a lot of looks and quality for sub $500. Thanks all.

I’d go Omega. My wife has bought me several nice watches over the years and one is an Omega Aqua Terra.

Another watch that is very well built is Oris. I have the craysfort reef limited edition.

I'll give Oris a look, but Omega is currently top of the list. Bobs watches has a pre teak dial styling aquaterra that keeps catching my eye, but I'm liking several Omega offerings. thanks all.

Rolex has a repair facility in Dallas, Unless things have changed you can take your watch right to them there. Mechanical watches need oiling every few years and they check the timing too.
I wear a Rolex date just we bought off Ebay years back, son serviced it for me and I had to get it fixed last year. He sent it to a colleague and it is like new now. Worth about twice what I paid for it.\
Many Tags are just a quartz movement. I had to have one replaced back a few years ago. Again my son ordered the movement and replaced it for me.
Who knew having a watchmaker in the family would pay off.

I wanted a Rolex Submariner, but didnt have the $15,000 to spend on it. I settled on this Citizen Eco-Drive and have loved it. It keeps amazing time and requires no winding. It scratches my itch and looks enough like the Rolex I wanted.
