Those burners like that are the ones that were used on chicken house brooders. Someone may have some just laying around.

Masked off the stainless for a little contrast. Just need to boil her out and then season it with some pork fat.

Going to let the heat paint cure for a little
        while before I do that.

That turned out awesome. And I have that same burner head and it’ll heat anything up.

Are you still planning a wind guard? I think you’ll want it.

Going to try and find some thin stainless plate to bend a round one and mount to the stainless bar stock.

You will be glad you did. Makes it much more efficient, and more consistent.

Added 5 gallons of tap water and set burner to medium level of flame.
                      Results:

                      5 gallons @ 95 degrees

                      105 degrees in one minute.

                      115 degrees in 2 minutes.

                      125 degrees in 3 minutes.

                      150 degrees in 6 minutes.

                      170 degrees in 9 minutes.

                      190 degrees in 12 minutes.

                      200 degrees in 14 minutes.

                      212 degrees in 17 minutes.

I'd hit up a scrap yard and see if they have any strainer baskets. Most are punched with holes big enough not to block flow, just in place to support the filter screen. May even find one with a dressed edge.

                            Looks great!!
