    Hunters Extravaganza

Went Sunday for the first time in 4-5 years, I was on a mission to buy some blinds for the new place, left with a lot less $ than when I arrived there lol. Ended up buying 6 of the Monarch blinds, they are a rifle / bow combo, very nice blinds, they had them on sale for 3500, the blinds that I originally was looking at sell for 5600, no way they are worth 2000 more plus shipping, I actually like the Monarch blinds better, the owner of Monarch was very nice and very thankful. Now we get to go stand them up in heat of west Texas, should be a lot of fun.

Were these the folks who had those spacious tower stands? The one that were not glass-sided? If so, we seriously considered one.

Not the Monarch but those glass blinds were pretty amazing.

I thought so, too, but I wondered (1) about the reflectivity being off-putting to the wildlife and (2) wondered about the convection effect of the son and the buildup of heat.

Other than that, place an A/C unti on top and install a wet bar and I’m a loyal customer forever.

For the glass blinds, The sales guy was busy & said they were “18” and then walked away…never clear if he meant $1800 or $18k

I suspect the latter. Especially for that beautiful almost-two-story tower blind. Very well constructed and a thing of beauty, I never really bothered to check price because I knew it was way out of my range for the amount of time I’d actually use it.

next up will be the deer lease blind cleaning service. I will come to your blind. Clean up your stand. Wash your windows and leave you a bottle of doe in heat.

You may be onto something here. I’d pay for someone to come clean my blind on the regular.

$30k is insane. Reminds me of when one of my cousins was going to spend $35k for a dock in his little tank. A buddy of ours told him to go buy an F150 and roll it into the pond where just the bed was exposed and use that for a dock. It put it in perspective. In this case I bet you can find a **** nice minivan for $30k that has all the room you need, AC, radio, dvd players and you can drive it to different spots. If you want it elevated you could even put some Dr Dre hydraulics on it and still be less than $30k. To each their own though.

                            $18,000 ????

I've been on my small lease now for 19 yrs and if I add up the yearly payments for those years, I still don't come up with $18k! The lease fees have increased some over the years, so it's close, but not that much.

My one room condo of a blind (8x8) only cost me about 2% of those glass ones...guess I'll stick with being a cheap-***-ba$tard!
