Happy 75th birthday to Mark Knopfler!

One of the all time guitar gods...easily one of my top 5 entertainers. Came onto the scene in 1977.

    If you are fan, enjoy.

I used to watch his video on acoustic fingerstyle on repeat as a teen. Hugely influential. Happy bday.

One of the sweetest guitar riffs ever to one of the dumbest songs.... IMHO

He wrote that song while shopping.

Commercially Successful But Controversial The Dire Straits single “Money for Nothing” was a huge success for the band. It topped several charts in the US and was also a hit in the UK and other countries. It earned them a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and MTV […]

Their first album came out in 1978 when I was in college - my roommate and I played the grooves off of it. "Down to the Waterline" "Water of Love" "Wild West End" etc and the guitar solo at the end of "Sultans of Swing" has gotta be top 5 guitar solos of all time for me. Happy Birthday Mark Knopfler!

Even a guy like me that does not know which end of the guitar does what can appreciate the greatness of Mark Knopfler.

(Someday you’ll return to your Valleys and your farms) somehow strikes a chord even though I almost never go anywhere much less to a war. His guitar work is sometimes haunting. I’m a fan and didn’t know he was quite that old

I guess if you don’t have an X account, you can’t hear it. It must have been good though……..

                      Oh, Dire Straights. Meh.

Brothers in Arms was about Britain's involvement in the Falkland war...Knopfler's music is a lot like RUSH's & you are either all in or out. While the progressive tunes are not for everyone, you are fool to dismiss the talent. He had a very distinctive string picking style.

Here's one some may have missed.

Happy Birthday! I hope you have an amazing celebration. Looking back, I really wish I had been smarter about my previous birthday celebrations. If I had hired https://stateofwriting.com/uk/business-writing-service in advance, it would have made a world of difference. Unfortunately, I was so swamped with work that I didn’t have the time to fully enjoy the occasion. The stress of juggling deadlines and tasks overshadowed what should have been a joyous and relaxing day
