Wow that last picture of the northern lights is great! When I was in the north country all we ever saw was green lights rolling across the skyline at night.

Nope, just regular iPhone, but the pictures definitely add color.

More Pile today. The Lake Trout are 30-60 feet deep and they troll for them. I’d pretty much rather watch Oprah than fish with a spinning rod so trolling sounds horrible to me. Helicopter fishing is pretty fun!

Shore lunch is awesome. We kept 3 Pike and 2 walleye today, and like every day the guides cook us lunch.

Well, if you want to see what a grouchy wife looks like here you go! Got caught in a pouring rain with slow fishing (of which she has had enough anyway).

Found a bunch of Walleye in a Pike spot. All I need now is to catch a grayling and I will complete the Canadian Grand Slam.
NOTE: Lake trout was not on a fly rod so I will have an asterisk by my entry in the history books should I complete my task.

Also, thank freaking anyone who will listen that it cooled off and the bugs are down by 80%. Today’s high was 68. It had been mid eighty’s.

The water was angry my friend…………today started out great. Then a wind blew in and was humming at 20 mph all day. Not ideal fly fishing weather but I needed to catch a grayling to hit the grand slam. 17 inch fish. A trophy grayling is 18 so it’s a good one. They are a beautiful little purple fish with a super cool dorsal fin. Also the most slippery fish I have ever held so that’s why the goofy pictures. I didn’t want him in the water w/o a pic. Canadian grand slam complete-Pike, Lake Trout, Walleye, and grayling. Caught another 20-30 Pike after lunch. Great trip but I’m ready to be home.

Grayling is a cool fish!! I’ve been researching Baldwin for late Sept. maybe in 3 years for our 25th anniversary. She likes to fly fish and wants to see the northern lights! You got me looking to spend all kinds of money I don’t have!

                            congrats on another awesome adventure!
