How to take care of your loved ones if you are gone

The post by Muzzlebrake that his time was near made me think to post this excellent outline on how to prepare your loved ones when someone loses their spouse or family member. I posted this before but thought a reminder might be helpful.

I worked for years with surviving spouses who lost their partner - it is overwhelming enough to lose a loved one but also having to worry about financial and legal stuff is no fun. With just a little bit of planning and information that worry can largely be taken care of ahead of time - God bless Muzzlebrake - you are being prayed for.

Great post! Wife and I have done all that, although I hope we have many years left.

Wife and I talk about it. If she were not here I would t even know who to pay for electricity. It’s just tough to do because it reminds me that, no matter how small, there is a chance I might be here with out her.

          Great post Huntingfool.

I have something similar at the very front of my file cabinet. I've also sent my oldest son an electronic copy. In addition, my wife and I have set up a trust so nothing will have to go through probate.

Yep, all property is set up on Transfer of Death Deeds. All other have POD's attached.
