    Best Tamales and Menudo in Austin?

    Looking to see who makes the best tamales (and Menudo for my wife) in the NW Austin, Cedar Park, or Leander area. Wanting to order some for xmas eve.

    Jeff Jardin Corona has some great menudo in Liberty Hill and in Georgetown you cant beat El charritos

        Jeff I actually have my Mother-in-laws recipe for menudo if you are brave enough to try cooking it in the house I also know a place in austin where you can get the lining already cut up and cleaned.

          We like Rosie's tamales, but Hwy 71 and 620 may be too far south for you.

                      Jeff, Jardin del Rey in Leander on 183 South will not disapoint. Also, J&J BBQ in Cedar Park on 1431 is good as well.

                        Menudo's not that hard to make if you have a good recipe. Just cook it outside over hot coals in a big pot. We used to make it every year at New Years to help with the hang overs and such. I am gonna have to see if I can get the recipe.

                          Ther is a little old lady that sets up in her
                          Winnebago at the gate to the crushers in
                          Georgetown thathas the best Menudo in the state!
                          This is at Texas Crushed Stone.
