    hooking up a wifi extender

So my router is at one end of my house so when you go to the other side my wifi signal goes away. Bought an extender (which they said was very simple and fast to set up). Just plug it into the wall and you are good.
So I receive it today and open directions and there are around 4-5 options of how to set it up about which I know nothing. Very frustrating

WiFi mesh EERO's FTW. I've been using them for years and they work great.

I would recommend a mesh over an extender (based on my IT guy). Although I don't have a EERO mesh, I just talked to my neighbor who is not the most tech savvy. He told me they recently got the EERO mesh and it was easy to set up.

There should be a WPS option. Very simple. Plug both in walk to main router push WPS button walk to extender push WPS button and that should do it. There is no such thing as plug and play without syncing otherwise your internet would be wide open for anyone to take over easily.

Another vote for EERO if you have the opportunity to return the extender. There is a little cost upfront but well worth it. I messed around with extenders without much luck. I have had EERO several years and almost flawless. 2700 sq ft house and good coverage of our back yard and garage. I have 3.

I bought a TPlink 3 puck mesh system from Home depot. I have 2 in the house. 2nd one is in the window and 3rd is in window of my barn about 130ft away and it pick it up and feeds wifi into the barn.

I read and read and just way to much hit and miss with these wifi extender things.

I used a Bridge to bridge pluged into another mesh puck system for another application and it worked great also.

I will echo the above with the eero. Have two of them and they are simple and work well.

I had two EERO's in the house and one in my detached garage. Flawless coverage for years. The streaming is SO fast, your pron videos will be over before you can get out the Vaseline, baby oil or bud plug...whatever you may need. ;-)
