Mounting **motor only** below 85 gallon barrel feeder

I am having a hard time trying to find my answer with Google, so another dumb question. I am building a 85 gallon deer feeder, and wanting to put just the motor under the barrel. Can anyone share pictures of how they did this? The control box with timer, battery, and solar panel will be mounted on the side of the barrel at eye level so I don't have to crawl in the mud. I have a welder, just having a little hard time figuring this out in my head.

    Thanks in advance.

I have an older feeder set up with timer and battery inside ! They installed two pieces of 1/4” all thread coming out of the bottom about 10” long and then took a 3/16” piece of flat bar and drilled holes for the all thread and two small holes for the motor to mount underneath the flat bar with a 3/4” hole for the shaft to come up through. There is plenty of room for any type of spinner plate you want to use and height adjustment is a breeze. I’m discontinuing this unit due to drum rust and purchased 1000# feeders! This thing is probably 30 + years old . These parts just Might be available ! Not the motor though, it’s brand new

Wish i still had my old feeder. Would send you pictures of the mounting bracket. Basically a 6”x6” aluminum flat plate with 1/4” all thread on the corners 1/2” or 3/4” hole in center. Attach motor with motor studs to plate. A simple design . Some jackwad stole the old feeder. I am assuming you are using the standard 12 volt motor. Any questions send me a p m.

I have 1 just like you explained. All thread needs to be wide enough so the spinner plate clears. Nuts on top and bottom so you can adjust motor / spinner plate height. I hope you can zoom in on the picture to see the setup.

We had one similar, back in the day, don't remember exactly how the motor was hanging there, but the battery and timer, were in an old metal ammo box, mounted on the side of the barrel.
And all the wires were run thru some flexible / metal conduit.

This will keep the motor a little more protected. https://ultramaticfeeders.com/produc...ts-galvanized/

get two boxes--one on the bottom with motor and spinner plate, and a second on the side with the timer--but be sure the connecting wires are in conduit --
